Class Rules
2010 - 2.4 OD Division Class Rules and 2.4 OD Division Boat Construction Manual -INTRODUCTION
The One Design Rule Committee has prepared drafts of the class rules for a OD Class.
When consulting officers of the ISAF Technical Committee the ICA has been advised to prepare two kinds of rules:
1. A stand alone rule for the OD Class Division
2. An appendix to the Int 2.4mR Class Rules
In both cases the specification of the boat shall be found in a separate document: Construction Manual.
The Construction Manual, which mainly consists of drawings specifying dimensions and construction solutions, contains requirements of materials, weights, rigidity of hull etc.
The ICA Executive Committee has decided to concentrate on the alternative 2; an Appendix to the present 2.4mR Rule, and consequently only this alternative is presented here.
The Appendix consists of
- Section K, which gives the Class Rules. This shall be read together with the 2.4mR Rules. The rules are indicated with either “ADDED” or “AMENDED”. When for example “AMENDED” is indicated in the heading of a Rule, all sub rules are amended. When the indication is in the heading of a sub rule, only that sub rule and its sub sub rules are amended.
- Section K1, which is a list of drawings to used when checking boats.
- Section K2, which gives the requirements when approving old Norlin III boats.
- Section K3, which describes how to make a flotation test, and
- Section K4, which describes a method to check the centre of gravity of the boat.
All drawings of Section K1 are not yet finished. When they are, they will be presented here.
