Greetings from the new ICA president: Heiko Kröger

Dear friends,

The 2021 season has been a tough test for sailing as a whole. The Corona virus has caused significant problems worldwide and hit us sailors hard. Many regattas have been postponed or cancelled altogether, like our World Championship.
I am all the more pleased that the regattas, which took place despite the contact restrictions, were very well attended.
I am particularly pleased that an alternative date could be found for the Para World Championship in Warnemünde.
Our class has thus laid the foundation for the renewal of the constructive cooperation with World Sailing and the Para World Sailing Committee. We will intensify this cooperation also this year.

Now is the time to look ahead and work together on the development of our class in all areas.
We as elected representatives of the International Class Association have to implement this just like the representatives and members of the NCAs. By working closely together and strengthening communication with each other, sharing ideas and discussing issues or problems, we can look to the future of our class with confidence.

I would like to see the EC and TC of our class take a significant step from being an administrative body to being a service provider to the class.
We will discuss technical issues with you, develop and implement measures to attract members, and plan and implement events.

For the coming season, I wish us all good health, much success and a lot of fun in the greatest boat class in the world.

Your Heiko
President
