The International 2.4mR Class Association (ICA) is the world governing body for the International 2.4mR Class and the 2.4 Norlin One Design Class, operating in partnership with World Sailing.
For the purposes of data protection law, the ICA is the data controller responsible for your personal data collected through this website.

The ICA website (www.inter24metre.org), hosted by Squarespace
Email communications sent to or from ICA email addresses (handled via Google Workspace)
The ICA mailing list and newsletter
It does not cover third-party websites linked from this site, including National Class Association (NCA) websites, World Sailing, social media platforms, or supplier websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
3. What Data We Collect and Why
3a. Website visitors
When you visit this website, Squarespace (our hosting provider) automatically collects certain technical data as part of normal website operation. This may include:
IP address
Browser type and version
Operating system
Pages visited and time spent
Referring URL
This data is used for website security, performance monitoring, and aggregate statistical analysis. It is processed by Squarespace on our behalf and is not used to identify individual users. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website.
3b. Mailing list subscribers
If you choose to subscribe to the ICA newsletter or mailing list, we collect your:

This information is used solely to send you news, event updates, and other communications relevant to the 2.4mR Class. The legal basis is your consent, given at the point of subscription.
You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any newsletter, or by emailing secretary@inter24metre.org. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before that withdrawal.
3c. Direct email contact
When you contact the ICA by email, your email address and any personal information you include in your message will be used solely to respond to your enquiry and manage our correspondence with you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to communications directed to the ICA.
Email communications are handled via Google Workspace (see Section 5b below).
3d. Contact form
If you submit a query via a contact form on this website, that data is transmitted and stored via Squarespace's form infrastructure before being forwarded to our email. The same principles as Section 3c apply.

5a. Squarespace (website hosting and infrastructure)
This website is hosted and built on the Squarespace platform. Squarespace processes data generated by your use of this website, including technical data described in Section 3a and any data submitted via contact forms.
Squarespace, Inc. is based in the United States. Data may be transferred to and processed in the US. Squarespace participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

5b. Google (email)
ICA email accounts (at the inter24metre.org domain) are operated using Google Workspace. Emails sent to or from ICA addresses are processed and stored on Google's infrastructure.
Google LLC is based in the United States. Under our Google Workspace agreement, Google acts as a data processor and does not use Workspace customer data to serve advertising.

5c. Social media platforms
Links to the ICA's Facebook and Instagram pages are provided on this website for convenience. If you click those links and interact with those platforms, your data is processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. under their own terms. The ICA does not receive personal data from those platforms through the links on this site.
6. How We Share Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
With our data processors: Squarespace and Google, as described above, acting under our instruction.
Where required by law: if we are legally obliged to disclose information to a regulatory body, law enforcement, or court.
With your NCA: if you specifically request that we connect you with your National Class Association, we may pass your contact details to the relevant NCA officer. We will tell you when we intend to do this.
7. International Data Transfers
The ICA is a global organisation. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, where Squarespace and Google infrastructure is based.
Where personal data originating in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom is transferred outside those territories, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for Squarespace and Google) and standard contractual clauses where applicable.
8. Data Retention
Website technical data: retained by Squarespace in accordance with their data retention policies (typically up to 12 months for analytics data).
Mailing list data: retained for as long as you remain subscribed. On unsubscription, your details are removed from active mailing lists promptly.
Email correspondence: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to manage ongoing class administration. Routine enquiries are not archived beyond the current sailing year.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and many other jurisdictions have the right to:
